![]() ![]() ![]() Since setting it this way, Touch ID on the Magic Keyboard has never failed on me ![]() It's annoying that in Ventura, they moved "never sleep" to displays from Energy Saver, but my guess is a lot of people have this setting off and their Macs are going to sleep. Setting -> Displays -> Advanced -> Prevent automatic sleeping when the display is off.However, since I use this Mac Mini for work, a lot of options are not available to me because they are managed by our MDM. While u/SessionFree6186's steps work well to get it back, I wanted to prevent it from happening. After some trial and error, I believe this is actually caused by the Mac going to sleep, thus putting the keyboard in standby mode. I've never encountered this on MacBook, and I've had multiple MacBooks with TouchID since their first release. So I recently bought an M1 Mac Mini off eBay and this issue was really annoying me. Its now been a whole whopping 2 hours since I did the steps above and my Touch ID is still accounted for and working, so hopefully it will work for you too! To test if it is working fine, lock your Mac and it should prompt you for your fingerprint or your password to log in. Unlocking your Mac) are checked and you should be good to go.
